Assisting domestic companies
Jeff has worked with a number of domestic companies in filing their trademarks and patents with the US Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO). He also assists domestic companies in litigation related to their Intellectual Property, helping them to protect their IP rights and defend their brand portfolio.
Foreign IP protection
In addition to domestic companies Jeff assists many foreign clients throughout the patent, trademark, and copyright processes. He is able to assist with filing new applications, as well as assisting foreign companies with any issues, office actions, or litigation that may occur along throughout the process.

Jeffery M. Lillywhite is a patent attorney of Kimball Anderson. He has extensive experience in intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, trade dress, trade secrets, copyrights, contracts, unfair business practices, IP disputes, social media, and marketplace enforcement matters. Jeff has worked with direct selling, affiliate program, and party plan companies for over a decade and has assisted with wide-ranging legal issues related to their industries.

Jeff has more than 20 years of experience in the management, preparation, and prosecution of all aspects of U.S. and foreign patent issues. He assists clients in various areas of technology, including semiconductors, projectors, liquid crystal displays, data transfer devices, catheters, prosthetics, printer components, automobile components, and other structural devices, software, chemical processes, and supplement manufacturing methods. Jeff works with start-up companies, large national, and foreign-based companies.

Jeff assists filing trademarks in over 150 countries around the world, filed hundreds of applications in the United States and advises clients about their trademark portfolios. He works with clients to build their brands and strengthen their intellectual portfolios. Jeff creates strategies to procure intellectual property rights, establish brand protection, and enforce the rights through online marketplaces, social media, and other marketing platforms. He has extensive experience in working with marketplaces, like Amazon and eBay, and has helped many online sellers set up their brand registries and takedown rouge sellers.
Copyright Work
Jeff helps clients identify intellectual property rights, such as copyrights, that may be missing in a client’s portfolio. Copyright registrations can be a powerful tool to take down rogue sellers, copycats, and pirate companies in the U.S. and abroad. He files copyrights in the United States and assists with filings in foreign countries, like China, to bolster a client’s portfolio. Many intellectual property rights work together and can be effectively used to reduce knock-off and counterfeit sellers. Copyrights are very effective for taking down posts and listings that are copied. He has extensive experience in working with social media platforms, like Facebook and Instagram, and has helped many clients take down unwanted posts.
In-House Counsel
Jeff has contracted to companies to serve as in-house counsel. He manages teams and works with other departments in operations, marketing, and regulatory groups to create processes to work effectively together. His past experience includes General Counsel for Miche Fashion Company and IP Counsel for MonaVie and Jeunesse.
